2025 Morel Sightings Map
As usual, the 2025 Morel season had its highs and lows. Take a gander at the map and you’ll see the successes sent in during the year. Motherload 650 morels - I found them on 6/11. I was totally surprised, very late for here. (late submission, new report) 05/17/2025 Sterling Heights Michigan found in my yard. Past its prime , along with 7 other bigger ones. Under sugar maple dead tree Best day ever for morels, May 8th 2025 We found 261 under one tree! Found some! Found around 50 that were in good shape. Not as prolific a year compared to last. Best find was our lost van key someone found after a year of it in the snowy woods and they hung it on a bush stem next to the parking area and we spotted it!!!! Thank you fellow morel hunter!!!! Morels Fountain Creek Park Another late season blessing - These i found 5/29 deep in the woods under another of cover. Still out there! Found just a couple pairs on a hill near oaks right off the road from where i parked for a water quality inspection. Morel in Eastern Ontario - Found under an apple tree by a field. Foraging success - Burn scars are poppin off Came across these today, 05/27/2025, while out on a walk at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve near Rockford, MN 55373. Stumbled upon a patch of six today, 05/27/2025, while walking the horse trail. Golden Morels in Jackson, WY Mount pisgah, south trail Willoughby Vermont - Near the beginning of the trail Benzie County - North Facing Mighty mailbox morel - Right next to a bank of mailboxes! Just left were many more. Better late than never. Was surprised to come across these so late in the season. Just needed some rain! Morel Haul - Found on a south facing hill. Branch Twp, MI - Found by accident, first time…so excited. unexpected morels - Removed an ash tree from the area two years ago. End of season find - The only morel I found this year. Right in my own backyard. Confirmation of the end of the season. I crumbled it up and threw it back where I found it to hopefully get more next year. Burn morels in the Columbia gorge - Scattered in burn, 2500-3000ft elevation 5/23 Back Yard Morel 1 small morel on an island on Lake George. White Pine, Ash cover. Annual spot on Mt Philo. Young mushroom hunter - My 8 year old son has good eyes, he's found at least as many as I have. Morel sighting - Ahhh I knew you were still out there! Found within Emigrant Springs State Heritage Area. Morels in early May - Burlington, VT Morel sighting near White Pines - Cool, rainy weather with a few days of sun before this motherboard appeared. Cool, wet weather with a few warm days before these beauties appeared. Spotted along a trail. Just a small guy all alone. Michigan Morels Niece found these - 10 yr old niece brought these in from the woods 5/9/2025.
Pretty large, probably between 3 and 6 inches.
Private property - near crabapple tree, fresh mulch, gladiolus plants- fruit about 1.5 in diameter.
With the dry spring we didn't find any until 5/18. We've picked over 3 lbs this year.
Just 2 morels that appeared early May near elms and white pine.
