2021 Sightings Map

2021 Morel Sightings Map

The 2021 Morel season was a pretty good year for most. The Southeastern states had their first official sighting reported Mar 4, 2021, which means many shroomers are already hitting their spots. The Morels are making their late season progression right on time too. While you are here, take time and visit The Morel Store for those special occasions and gift ideas for the Shroomer in your life! Also, don’t forget to read some of the great articles and spend some time.

If you have issues not seeing the latest sightings markers, try un-checking a month in the bottom left corner of the map and then rechecking the box next to the month.  It should refresh correctly.

There are plenty of features on the new interactive map – zoom, filter by month, full screen and more. Below the map you can find a table listing of the 20 most recent sightings along with images and notes if they were sent – there is a “more pages” button at the bottom of this table.

Bullfrog Lake: sighted on the bottom of a south-west facing hill near a large tree. To the north-east is a stone bridge, and to the immediate south of the tree is a small stream. Partly cloudy day, about 70F. Grounds were loose and sandy with many oaks and other trees surrounding the area. Note: In this immediate location at the bottom of the hill, to the east, there has been a metal fold-out chair for years. No photo available.

Morel sighting 6/5/21 - I was surprised to find these this late in the season. They were under a shed porch we just built last fall, so shaded. Found eight total in three spots under the porch (right along the edges).
