We started finding morels in a shady area of our 2-acre suburban yard about 7 years ago. It took us a year to decide they really were morels and start to harvest them. We always check carefully before cutting the grass in the spring. Last year there were none. Today, after a day of mostly gentle rain, we found about 20 in between a big white pine and a dying pin oak. Most are about 3" but there is a monster in with the irises in a flower bed.
