Fish and Shrooms

Courtesy of Larry Steinke, Wisconsin
Hey, hey, great site!
I usually time my hunting to the lilacs across the street from me. When the flowers get ready to pop it's time for me to hop. Typically, the 2nd or 3rd week in May.
The morels I see most are of the esculenta and deliciosa (creamy colored) variety although I have harvested the black and crassipes. Got over 30 in an hour last spring, WOW! Since I'm in central and not the hotbed area in SW Wisconsin, it was a banner day.
Get ready, the time of joy approaches.
